Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management - Introduction of secure workflow to bypass legal holds and retention policies
Microsoft Purview will introduce Priority cleanup, a new feature allowing administrators to create recurring exceptions to delete items subject to retention policies or legal holds on Exchange. This requires a separate security role, multi-approver authorization, and maintains full audit trails.
Action required: Plan for implementation of Priority cleanup workflows; assign new security role and designate multiple approvers for legal hold/retention policy exceptions.
