Dynamics 365 Project Operations: Set invoice limits for time and material billing
Project Operations now supports setting invoice amount limits for time and material billing periods, eliminating the need for manual spreadsheet tracking and reducing billing reconciliation overhead and dispute risk.
Microsoft's description
Customers often issue a purchase order that sets how much they'll accept on each invoice for a time and material engagement. Until now, Dynamics 365 Project Operations had no place to record that amount, so project managers and billing teams tracked it in spreadsheets and checked invoices by hand, adding reconciliation work and the risk of disputes. You can now set an invoice amount limit for each billing period on a time and material contract line's invoice schedule: Enter the limit for each period, for example to match the customer's purchase order for that month. When an invoice is created from the schedule, that period's limit is copied to the invoice header, so reviewers can compare the invoiced amount with the customer's expectation before confirming. For contract lines billed to multiple customers, you set one limit per period, and it's split across the customer invoices by each customer's billing percentage.
